Kasi Viswanthar Temple
Tenkasi is a small municipal town situated in the foot hills of Western Ghats of Tirunelveli district of Tamilnadu, India. The economy and the commercial activity of the people here is much related to agriculture. Tenkasi Rajagopuram (Kasi Vishwanathar temple tower) and the falls Courtallam near by tenkasi are the famous tourist destinations in tenkasi.
The (South Kasi) is famous for its Ulagamman Temple and its Shiva Temple. The main deity here is Kasi Viswanathar (Shiva) Temple. This Temple has three sannidhis as Sivan, Amman, and Murugan Sannidhis. This Temple has beautiful sculptures and also has musical stone pillars, that emits nodes of diffrent pitch when tapped with fingers. The Gopuram of the Temple welcomes pilgrims with a pleasant cool breeze and drizzling straight from the nearby Thirikooda malai. There are trains from chennai and many public and private buses are available for reaching Tenkasi. Many hotels and lodges are in the town for pilgrimage and for tourists.
